Low/Zero Carbon Feasibility Study for Logistics Centre
Green Dimension undertook a feasibility study of low/zero carbon solutions for an existing logistics centre for a multi-national Corporate client.
- A comprehensive review was undertaken of opportunities for energy efficiency measures and renewable energy systems including wind turbines, biomass heating and CHP, solar thermal, solar electric and ground source heat pumps.
- The information provided included typical system sizes and design options, indicative capital costs and payback, on-site renewable energy generation and revenue, carbon and fuel cost savings.
- Several packages of measures were presented that could deliver substantial reductions in carbon emissions.
- As this was not a new build, the integration of any new renewable energy schemes into current energy systems was a critical factor. Green Dimension scoped an innovative integration solution which would enable low cost and low carbon heating solutions to be installed at a feasible cost and with minimal disruption to the operation of the business.

Planning Application for 80kW, 40m high Wind Turbine
This project was granted planning permission in September 2009
Our client is a farmer in the East of England who is intending to install a 80kW, 40m high wind turbine at his site. Green Dimension has undertaken the key stakeholder consultations and the preparation of the planning application for the project.
- Consultations were undertaken with key stakeholders including telecommunications companies, the local Distribution Network Operator (for connection to the mains grid) and radar. Some initial objections to the project from some consultees were overcome following further analysis and negotiation.
- Studies prepared in support of the planning application included a wildlife study, visual impact study, noise impact study and air traffic study.
- Green Dimension recently submitted the planning application on behalf of the client.

Sustainable Energy Feasibility Study for Residential Centre
Green Dimension undertook a sustainable energy feasibility study for a residential educational centre. The objective of the study was to provide Management with the key options available for providing their site with zero/low carbon energy from both on and off site sources. The Historic nature of the building was taken into account during this study.
- Green Dimension undertook a comprehensive review of opportunities for energy efficiency and renewable energy systems including wind turbines, biomass heating, solar thermal, solar electric and ground source heat pumps.
- The information provided included typical system sizes and design options, indicative capital costs and payback, on-site renewable energy generation and revenue, carbon and fuel cost savings.
- Several packages of measures were presented that could deliver substantial reductions in carbon emissions. In addition to meeting demanding environmental targets, opportunities were identified for low cost energy sources which would bring financial benefits over the medium and long term.
- Green Dimension identified capital grants and source of funding available to the client. Suggestions were given regarding an appropriate long term energy strategy.
